Baka Gbiné on CRTV

The final performance by Baka Gbiné before heading home was a recording session for CRTV, Bertoua. Joseph Mewanu invited them to perform.

One of the aims of the Forest Voices Tour was to get the musicians used to performing, rather than just playing together. In just a couple of weeks they had improved amazingly. They were definitely ready to play any venue in Cameroon now.

The other main aim of the tour was to use the concerts as a means to bring different Baka communities together. Information was distributed and discussions were had. many Baka came forward to speak to camera about issues that they thought were important. This was the first stage in getting their voices heard.

This was very much a pilot tour, finding out how it would work, and what problems would be encountered. Feedback we have received has been overwhelmingly positive, the only criticism being "why didn’t you come to our village?". Now the work starts to raise funds for a more extensive tour at the end of 2014.
